Opportunity Description: We are looking for volunteers to help out in a variety of ways. Schedule and time commitment depend on the individual as we base projects off the profile form we recieve from volunteers. We need volunteers to help out in the office on a regular basis with different projects. We also have programs that take place on the weekends that we occasionally need volunteers for. If you are interested in helping the best thing to do is contact us or fill out the Volunteer Profile form we have attached. We can then contact you and find out what projects we can get you involved with. We are always looking for good volunteers as we will have projects and programs year round.

Mission Statement: (See Web Site For Updated Information)
The Leukemia Lymphoma Society is the worlds largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer reasearch, education and patient services. Our mission is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkins disease and myeloma and to improve the quality of life of patients and their families. Approximately 75 of all funds raised go back to our mission.

Our chapter is fortunate that we have four local reasearchers at The James Cancer Hospital that we provide almost 9 million to in reasearch over a period of several years. We also have a program that provides patient financial aid to families to help with certain medical costs. In addition, we have many educational and support programs during the year to help patients and their families.

There are four main revenue streams our chapter has. Pennies for Patients is a educationally based fundraiser for Elemenentary, Middle and High School students. Light The Night is a one mile family friendly evening walk with illuminated balloons. Team In Training is the worlds largest endurance sports traiing program that sends athletes to different locations to participate in a marathon, half-marathon, century (100 mile) bike ride or triathalon. Journey Of Hope is a reception to cultivate top donors of the Society.
